Y10 in Ypres

Jul 8th

This time last week 140 Year 10s were visiting the battlefields of World War One and exploring the historic city of Ypres in Belgium.

Students laid a wreath on behalf of our community at the grave of Mrs O’Malley’s great uncle, and after dinner three students represented our school at the historic Menin Gate ceremony. During an incredibly moving and powerful day a special mention goes to Bertie, who went above and beyond to help our guide by reading out soldiers’ letters during the walking tour.
