Frequently asked questions

Here are some common frequently asked questions we have put together to help with the change to this new system.

What do we mean by Cashless Catering?
Your child will be issued with a contactless card by the school that can be used like cash to pay for school meals. You can top up the card by using My Child At School (MCAS), for which full instructions are given below. This is a much safer and more convenient way to pay for meals than cash which can be lost.

My child is Free School Meals, do I need to do anything?

You do not need to sign up to MCAS right now as their allowance is automatically added each day, but you are welcome to sign up if you would like to add additional money so they can buy food items that are not covered by the Free School Meal allowance. In the future, we will use MCAS to allow you to pay for items like leavers hoodies, ties etc. so it would be a good idea to sign up in readiness.

How do I sign up?
