A Message from the Principal
As the term draws to a close I just wanted to take this opportunity to say how immensely proud I have been to have had the opportunity to lead this school this term. I am thoroughly looking forward to continuing to work with you all in the new year and beyond.
This term has been incredibly busy. We’ve had our open evening, Year 7 meet the teacher evening, Year 11 information evening, Year 10 and Year 8 parent and carer evenings, the Winter Concert, a Music Recital, Health and Social Care launch, a business and local partners network evening and Principal welcome evenings. This is in addition to the multiple trips and visits and extra curricular that our students are exposed to on a regular basis. Now that we’ve reached the end of the term we can all have a well earned rest, have the chance to relax, reset and be ready for the new term.
It’s really important that standards remain high when we return in January so please ensure that your child(ren) has the correct uniform; tie, IA jumper etc and the correct equipment for school such as pens, pencils etc. It is also important that I highlight the school’s stance on jewellery. We only permit one stud per earlobe, a nose stud and a watch. No other jewellery is permitted. Acrylic nails are not permitted. I thank you in advance for your support. Finally, I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I look forward to seeing you all in January.
Festive Feast Success
We had a fantastic response to our Christmas Dinner day on 12 December.
As we introduced a new payment system via MCAS this year, we want to extend a huge thank you for your cooperation and for adapting to this change. We appreciate your patience as we ironed out a few initial hiccups; your support made the day run much smoother. Most importantly, the students had a wonderful time enjoying their festive meal together!
Festive Fashion for a Great Cause!
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our Christmas Jumper Day raised a fantastic £251.40 for UNICEF.
It was wonderful to see the school filled with so much colour and festive spirit! A huge thank you to everyone who participated and donated so generously; your contributions will make a real difference to children in need this winter.
Upcoming Events
The Year 11 Parent Consultation evening will take place on Thursday 15 January 2026.
Further details will be sent out shortly, including the date that the online booking system will be available. Please ensure you book your appointments as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Useful Tips for Parents/Carers
Safeguarding
Look for Relationship Troubles:
If your child seems upset about a relationship, it’s important to check in with them. Listen carefully and offer your support. Let your child’s year team know if they need extra guidance.
Attendance
Monitor Screen Time:
Make sure your child’s use of screens, especially in the evenings, doesn’t interfere with their sleep or focus. This can help them wake up refreshed and ready for school.
Reading/Literacy
Talk About What They Read:
After your child finishes a book or a chapter, ask them to summarise it or share their thoughts. This helps with comprehension and teaches them to reflect on what they’ve read.
