On Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th of June 2024, we will be welcoming pupils who have successfully obtained a place for the next academic year at Ipswich Academy, for two induction days. We’ve designed these days so pupils can gain some insight into what life at the Academy is really like and what they can expect from the new academic year. To make the experience as authentic as possible, we will be welcoming pupils from 9:00 AM until 3:20 PM, so that the pupils can see the Academy throughout its normal operating hours.

Pupils will…

  • meet their new Base Group tutor, who they will register with every morning
  • meet the other students in their new Base Group
  • have a tour of the Academy and will be shown all of the places that pupils will need to know, such as the canteens and the 3G pitch
  • attend lessons with class teachers, who will introduce their subjects and what pupils can expect from their curriculums

We haven’t finalised who the Base Group tutors of Year Seven will be yet, but once it has been confirmed we will add the list of their names here:

Over the two days, the pupils will also complete a worksheet to help them prepare for their arrival in September. It will essentially be their own, personalised help sheet!
