Paradigm Trust Takes Over Control of Ipswich Academy

1st September 2015

Paradigm Trust is pleased to announce the transfer of Ipswich Academy into its control, effective from today.

Amanda Phillips, Executive Principal of Paradigm Trust and the new Principal of Ipswich Academy said:

“My job is to lead a school which is focused on the future. We will be looking at the successes we want to achieve by July 2016 and beyond.

“Paradigm Trust has a strong track record on school improvement having successfully delivered significant school improvement on three separate occasions in institutions that were in special measures or required improvement.

“In our first term, our priority is going to be developing confidence. Confidence that all students have the necessary literacy skills for effective learning in all subjects, that they are clear about what is expected of them, that teachers and learning support staff are delivering good or outstanding lessons and that parents understand what we are doing and are working with us to support the learning and progress of their children.

“We have a programme of staff development and will conduct a review of teaching and learning in the next two weeks, and then will be in a strong position to decide what specific actions are needed for the school to improve.”

Notes to Editors

Paradigm Trust is a Multi Academy Trust, formed in September 2013, when the two founding schools, Old Ford Primary Academy (OFPA) and Culloden Primary Academy (CPA), converted to Academy status. In September 2014, Solebay Primary Academy (previously called CET Primary School Tower Hamlets) transferred to the Paradigm Trust.

Our Executive Principal is Amanda Phillips. She is a very experienced leader and is renowned for her tireless work to raise the achievement of pupils and students, often in the most challenging of circumstances. Her work as a National Leader for Education brings her into contact with a range of educational settings and organisations across the country. Her dedication, focus and success have resulted in securing a glowing reputation for OFPA and CPA, both nationally and internationally, and in her receiving a CBE in the New Year 2015 Honours’ List for services to education.
