Ipswich Academy is seeking to recruit teachers in science to further strengthen into a rapidly improving science faculty.

Year 11 subject consultation meeting – Thursday 8th February 2018, 5pm to 9pm
Appointments are available for you to meet with your child’s teachers on Thursday 8th February, 5 to 9pm. You are able to book five minute appointment slots for each subject teacher using our electronic booking system. Available from here:

Appointments with each teacher will last for five minutes. All meetings will take place in the school hall. Booking will be on a first come, first served basis and the booking system is now open. The number of appointments will, initially, be limited to five for each student to ensure that all parents/carers are able to participate. Nearer to the time, if additional appointments are available, we will release these into the booking system and notify you.
At 6pm there will be a break in the appointment schedule for 30 minutes, during which time there will be a presentation led by Helen Winn and her leadership team regarding progress and expectations in the 13 school weeks remaining until the start of the summer examinations. You will then be able to resume attending consultation appointments from 6:30pm until 9pm.
In order to login to the system, you will need the following information relating to «Forename», as held in our database:
- First name
- Surname
- Date of birth
- Register class
You will also need to enter the details we have on record for you. If you have recently changed your title or surname, for example, and not informed us, we will be expecting you to login with the details we have on record. The email address you enter is only used to receive a confirmation of your appointment. If the system gives you an error when you login, it will not be the email address that is the problem.
If you do not have access to the Internet, or experience any problems with using the system, please contact the school and ask to speak with Mrs Winstone.
Subject teachers will meet with you and your child on an individual basis to provide clear feedback on your child’s learning. You will also have an opportunity to review your child’s exercise books. As appointments are limited, if you are unable to see all of your child’s teachers then please contact the school via our email address to book a separate appointment at another time.
Your child is required to attend, with their parent/carer.

School day amended start – 18th January 2018
Due to the Orwell Bridge being shut this morning, and staff being stuck in traffic already, Ipswich Academy will be having a delayed start for years 8,9 and 10 until 11:30am. Years 7 and 11 should come in as usual for 9am. If any students in 8,9,10 need to come in to school due to childcare issues, we will be able to supervise them.

Cleaner – Ipswich Academy – closing date Monday 16 th October 2017, 9am
An opportunity has arisen for a permanent cleaner to work part-time at Ipswich Academy. Successful applicants will report to the Premises Manager and will work 2.5 hours each day, Monday to Friday (standard working hours are 4.00pm – 6.30pm but may be varied depending on the applicants’ availability). Duties include general cleaning duties throughout the academy, including cleaning during three weeks of the school closure in accordance with the cleaning programme.
